X-Wing "Red 4"

The story of Red 4 is quite dark. We dont know so much about it. After some researches, I found out that Red 4 was one of the 2 only X-Wings with a yellow canopy, the other one being Red 12. Both Red 4 and Red 12 were pyro models.

I used 4 production pictures of Red 4 (top, bottom, left and right views) to paint it. The model was labelled as Blue 4 on those pics because the X-Wings were originally intented to be part from a Blue Squadron. Unfortunatly, due to the early compositing methods, they had to change the blue color into red. The model already has its red markings on those pics though.

While the original Red 4 was a pyro model, I chose to build it the same way the Hero X-Wing were built. Resin fuselage, plexi and styrene wings, alloy armature S-foil and motorized wings. I also used the original kitparts.
